MEATLOAF FEATURING Celery & Onion Chef Veggie Starter

Serving Size: 6 to 8 servings



  • 2 cups Garden Highway Onion & Celery Chef Veggie Starter
  • 1 tablespoon olive or vegetable oil
  • 2 lbs. 90% lean ground beef
  • 2 cups dry bread crumbs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup ketchup  
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1½ teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 eggs, beaten



  • ½ cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons packed light brown sugar


Preheat oven to 350°F. Sauté Onion & Celery Chef Veggie Starter in oil in a large skillet set over high heat for 3 to 5 minutes. In a large bowl combine, sautéed Onion & Celery Chef Veggie Starter, ground beef, bread crumbs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, garlic powder, pepper and eggs. Mix ingredients together until well combined. Shape the mixture into a rectangular loaf on a sheet pan covered with parchment paper. In a small bowl, stir together ketchup and brown sugar and vinegar, then spread evenly over the top of the meatloaf. Bake for 1 to 1 ¼ hours, until the internal temperature is 165°F. Let the meatloaf rest for 5 minutes before serving.
